SUPPORTING WALLS

Along the quay walls and wherever the functional requirements of the northern side of the artificial island require unequal levels, supporting walls are constructed from B225 reinforced concrete. The role of the supporting walls is to hold landfills of a larger height (1.80 m). Zoom

Such walls are constructed at the shallow quay walls of the western basin.
The typical cross section of the supporting walls is shown on the following plan.
The supporting walls are built on a dip made of non-reinforced concrete B160, 10-cm thickness, which is spread on a base made of a crusted material, 20-cm thickness. Their visible surface is stone-coated, depending on the case.
