CONSTRUCTION SITE
In this particular project, there wasn't any available land to be used for construction site. The study provided for the construction of a landfill in the sea region of the project. The problem was to find the required materials, of almost 80,000 m^3. The construction company gave a solution by renting a borrow pit for the construction of the landfill, at a high construction cost, due to rock excavations and transport. The landfill consisted of 65% ripraps and 35% landfills.
It is noted that the disposal of unsuitable materials will take place in the open sea, far from Naxos' coasts, at a minimum distance of 1.5 nautical miles, and at depths larger than 50 m. | |||||||
